FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you hold stock? No. We purchase all goods on demand to ensure the longest possible shelf life.
Do you sell wholesale quantities? We do not sell by the pallet or container load. All our orders are sent by courier, packaged in cardboard boxes. These have to be possible to lift by hand. Please bear in mind that the more you order, the less likely our supplier will have that quantity in stock.
Do you have box prices for shipping? No. We believe it is fairer to only charge to ship the goods you want, rather than encouraging you to order more just to fill a box.
What payment methods do you accept? We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro cards, plus PayPal.
Are credit card payments secure on your website? We are very serious about our security obligations. Card payments are processed for us by SagePay. They communicate just with your card issuer and we never come into contact with your card details. SagePay are PCI DSS level one compliant and are an active member of the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. SagePay utilise a variety of methods to prevent fraud, including Verified by Visa/MasterCard Secure Code.
How do I place an order with you? Add items you want to the shopping cart. When you have finished your selection, proceed to "Checkout" and you will be asked for information we need to process your payment and send your order to you. Click "Done". You will receive an e-mail from us confirming your order has been placed.
When will I receive my goods? In most cases, we will shop for your items on the working day after you place your order. Once we have all the goods in your order, the items will be despatched by your chosen method. The delivery time will depend on your chosen service. We do not shop in all stores every day so certain items take us longer to obtain. However, delays can also be caused by unavailability of items, time differences should we need to contact you and await a reply, as well as set backs experienced by our couriers. Also customs officials in your country may wish to inspect your parcel, which will cause further delays.
What do you do if an item is unavailable? We will refund the cost of the item plus the cost of the shipping.
How will I know when to expect my delivery to arrive? We will send an e-mail to you on the day we dispatch your goods. We cannot guarantee exact delivery times on behalf of our couriers so the stated delivery times are guidelines only. If courier delivery is selected, the e-mail will contain the tracking number of your parcel which can be used on the relevant courier's website so see where your parcel is.
I cannot find what I am looking for. You can search our site either by browsing or by using the search facility. If the item is not listed, please contact us by phone or e-mail and we will see if our suppliers offer it. If they do, we will add it to our website.
Can I pay for my goods in my local currency? We only accept payment in Pounds Sterling. Your credit card issuer or PayPal will convert the payment to your local currency, often at a better exchange rate than we can obtain.
Are there any restrictions on goods entering my country? Some countries do have restrictions on certain goods. Please enquire with your local import authority for further information.

Can my order be delivered to a different address? Yes, but we still require the address your card is registered at (usually your home address) for the payment authentication process.
Is there a minimum amount I can order? No. You can order one single item if you wish. However, our couriers have a minimum charge for delivery and so the more you order, the cheaper the delivery costs per kilo.
How much does shipping cost? This depends on the size and weight of your chosen items. Certain items (such as crisps) are light but take up a lot of space. You can add and remove items to the shopping cart and see the shipping cost in the checkout. You can do this as often as you like as the order is not completed until you click "done" at the bottom of the last page.
Can I order chilled or frozen goods? No, we can only supply ambient groceries.
Can I combine items from your other website with an order from British Food Wholesalers? No. Due to the bulkier nature of items offered on British Food Wholesalers' website, this business operates from separate premises from Britsuperstore. We are therefore not in a position to combine goods into one parcel.
What will be the sell-by date on goods I order? Because we are personal shoppers and hold no stock, we can obtain the longest shelf lives possible. When we purchase your goods, we buy them with the longest date codes available on that day. We cannot guarantee the codes will last to a specified date, but we always endeavour to supply codes sufficiently long to still be in date when they reach you. |
